In the Old Testament Hannah desperately prayed to God for a child and pledged to dedicate that child to His service. God heard her prayer; in Hebrew Hannah means "favor" or "grace." So she found favor in God's sight, He blessed her with a son whom she named Samuel. She honored her pledge and dedicated Samuel to serve the priests in the temple. The mixed emotions she must have experienced are represented in this lovely bracelet. The beautiful flower combined with the black glass pearls remind us that sometimes sacrifices are bitter-sweet but God will bless us even more when we remain obedient.
